Mark and Steve, Thanks for detailing what probably caused the electrical problem on my Dakota. I had a better understanding of what may have happened. However, after reading on the internet about other stuck starters on Dakotas, I feel I need to be alert in the future to be sure it doesn't get stuck again and hope that, as you explained, it was probably the low battery that allowed the starter solenoid to stick and drain the rest of the battery power. I greatly appreciate the work you put in to check the system and to explain it to me. Thanks again, Dean
